Burtt Builders is our family-owned custom homebuilding business based out of Worcester County, Massachusetts. As part of the development of a 5-year strategic plan for business expansion, I conducted a lengthy competitor research and benchmarking analysis which resulted in a newly-designed logo, business cards, social channels, apparel, and website to better reflect the strategic vision of the business.

The Burtt Builders brand wished to be defined by quality construction, a refined modern style, quiet confidence, class, and meticulous attention to detail. We chose to only use black and white as our color palette, with a mark that incorporated a saw blade and nail separating the two initial of the business.

To continue the impression of refined style, the business cards utilize a raised spot gloss on the front and a buttery matte black on the back of the card. The apparel also continued the same brand standards by using an upgraded sueded cotton that provided a velvety brushed finish to the material. The website was intentionally bold and concise with the headline “Share Your Vision” and an immediate call to action to “Contact Us Today”. The one-page site features an About section, a list of services, and the business’s Instagram feed.

The brand launch garnered immediate praise and recognition as well as a large spike in clients and project requests within its first year, and has continued for each year following. The business is now waitlisting inquiries and has developed the opportunity to be much more selective of projects they feel are most reflective of their brand and the quality and scale they wish to reflect.
